Meet the Founder

Richard J. Barnett, MD Double Board-Certified ENT & Facial Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Barnett recently retired from the United States Air Force as a Colonel where he served for over 20 years. He has returned to the Emerald Coast with his wife Megan and three beautiful daughters to open up Barnett Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, PA. He is the only board-certified Facial Plastic surgeon in Destin and the local surrounding area. He has since performed thousands of cosmetic and reconstructive operations on patients around the world. Some of these include primary and revision rhinoplasty, face/brow/neck lifts, upper and lower eyelids, chin/lip implants, otoplasty, facial trauma, major skin cancer defect repairs, cleft lip/palate, head and neck cancer resection/reconstruction, sinus surgery, thyroidectomy. Dr. Barnett has travelled on numerous mission trips to Ecuador, Peru, and the Dominican Republic to perform cleft lip/palate and facial reconstructive operations. He and his office staff have developed the ability to perform many of these operations in the clinic allowing for faster recovery times for patients.

Education & Training

Dr. Barnett completed his undergraduate education at Princeton University in 1997, followed by medical school at Tulane University, where he finished in the top 10% of his class. He then went on to complete his ENT residency/Facial Plastics training at Tulane and Vanderbilt Universities.
